Like plants, animals and minerals samples, soil samples are considered important research material and natural heritage of this country. From 1985 to 1993, under the support of the Bureau of the Second National Soil Survey, CAM started a comprehensive scientific survey and sample collection of soils throughout the country (except for Taiwan Province). 226 soil samples of 120 types have been collected from over 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. They form a complete and rich soil database, the CAM soil sample series having a very high research value.
