  The “Rare Terrestrial Animals in China” Display (1998-2005) with an area of 400 square meters, exhibits about 150 specimens, which include amphibians, reptiles, avian and mammal animals. There are about 36 categories of national treasured animal samples, national protected animals of the first and second class, including pandas with a charming naïve air, awe-inspiring Manchurian tigers, and good-looking golden monkeys. The exhibitions are arranged in terms of ecosystems characteristic of different areas: the mountain forest exhibition areas are arranged in order of broad-leaved, mixed coniferous broad leaved and coniferous forests; the audience can learn not only about animals, but also about their living environment.

       Bionics used in the display offers calls, postures, and features of various kinds of animals. Besides, the touch screen technology is widely used in displays, extending the limited exhibition space to the infinite sphere of imagination.
